Abstract
In the era of knowledge, globalization creates the need to provide the Architecture student with new skills that allow him to recognize the models that are proposed in this century, characterized by continuous innovation in the creative methods of producing architecture in construction technologies and the use of materials, which requires the implementation of new educational paradigms from teaching. This challenge suggests abandoning the traditional academic learning method, to focus on an innovative research process and continuous training, focused on the analysis of knowledge made available to the student through the use of current information and communication technologies. With this intention, in the Architecture program of the Polytechnic University Institute “Santiago Mariño” —IUPSM—, Barinas Extension, multigrade teaching is proposed as an innovative approach, with the objective of achieving a successful teaching and learning process for the student, through the method of knowledge transmission not only vertically between teacher and student, but also transversally among the students themselves. Finally, from the teaching experience in different institutions, multigrade teaching encourages collaboration and peer learning, since students can help each other. In addition, teachers can adapt their teaching to the new educational, constructive and technological paradigms to meet the individual needs of students, promoting more personalized learning.
