Abstract

This article aims to present fundamental aspects of managing the dissemination process of university scientific research. For this purpose, a literature review was conducted in different countries using Google Scholar, obtaining information from digital repositories of scientific journals such as Dialnet, SciELO, and Redalyc. Keywords such as “scientific dissemination,” “university dissemination management,” “scientific research management,” and “technology and dissemination” were used. Based on the analysis of thirteen (13) authors and the Science, Technology, and Innovation Journal of the “Santiago Mariño” Polytechnic University Institute (CITEIN), a growing interest in the management of scientific dissemination and its relationship with society was observed, always with the purpose of contributing to the improvement of human endeavors. It should be noted that the dissemination process has evolved over time, considering the progress of technology and communication, whose advances have been taken into account by university institutions for application in management processes and research. However, despite the existence of academic institutions that use academic social networks in a planned way for science communication, factors that affect dissemination management persist, such as: lack of institutional support, economic factors, limited time for publication, and the problem of faculty training. Therefore, it is asserted that science dissemination management currently faces significant challenges, centered on aspects such as: long evaluation and publication periods, the need to conduct bibliometric analysis, and the promotion of interaction between authors and readers. Nevertheless, scientific journals are currently more relevant, becoming essential platforms for researchers, as they constitute spaces for sharing and presenting the results of their work.
